Re: [ahc] Stay-at-home or working moms

Hi Vicky,

I was working part-time in my own consulting business when I had my daughter.
Her health issues started so early (3mos) I never made it back to
consulting. And since I drummed up business on my own, I really had nothing or
no one
to fall back on. I still do not work. My daughter required constant
monitoring when she was young and there was no one else to do it. We couldn't
pay for
a full time nurse so I was the nurse. For me, it was the right thing to do.
There were so many unanswered questions, docs didn't know what it was at
first, treatments were changing all the time. I felt the need to monitor
everything and be the point person. I couldn't have done that working.

I do have to say at times I miss working and the contact with people and not
focusing so much on AHC. Time is going on and AHC is just becoming part of
our lives. Every year we get better at managing it for Addie and trying to keep
it from splitting up the family activities like it did in the beginning.

I am sure you will find your what works best for you and your family. Hope
this helps and welcome to the group. THere are such a great bunch of families
willing to share and support you.

karen v
