they are just continuous plastic that fit over the whole top or bottom to close up space.  You can pick a color...They weren't a nuisance, but the metal lacing of the teeth together to keep them that way is another matter...

Oh, mine got way worse first.  I didn't realize that I even had a bite problem!!  I had so much jaw pain.  I was taking alot of Advil.  It was hard to eat...

They'll talk to you for awhile, he'll exam your bite, teeth, etc. and tell you what they want to do.  They'll do measurements and stuff.  Then they'll talk...
