Congratuations, Clarece! This is a huge step for you! this is my second time around with braces, but I remember feeling like you do the first time. Here's wishing you swift progress and a relatively pain-free experience. It is oh, so worth it!
I just wanted to post a little intro. I'm Clarece. I'm 30 and I've got 3 kids. I've needed braces since the 4th grade. My mom could never afford it, being a waitress with no health or dental insurance. I'm ashamed to say that up until just a few months ago, I had never even seen the inside of a dentist's office. But, I finally decided to swallow my embarrassment and do what I've wanted to do for so long, cost be damned.
I'm getting my braces on June 24th, and I am so excited about it. At some point in the future, I'll be able to smile for a camera and laugh without covering my mouth. This is an extremely big event for me... I don't think other people I know can fully understand. But I bet you guys do! :)

When I had Aetna insurance, they did not cover adult orthodontics. But the Cigna coverage I have now does, 50% up to a certain amount ... I think $2000 max...
they are just continuous plastic that fit over the whole top or bottom to close up space. You can pick a color...They weren't a nuisance, but the metal lacing...
