Looking to hear stories of any other adults who are being or have
been treated with TMJ disorders....

I have recenttly been diganosed and am currently being treated for TMJ
I had been hit in the mouth when i was very young with a golf club
and it only just recently in the past 4 years started to have major
symptoms of TMJD -severe headaches jaw pain muscle pain neck back
pain etc...
I never thought it was TMJD and was finally brave enough to get to a
dentist from our church because i had always thought it had to do
with my wisdom teeth or something else related to bad teeth and
feared getting my teeth removed.I had a fear of dentists and teeth
removal because of a old dentist who did things the old fashioned
way.. ie pain relief was not like it is now.. THANK GOD
SO here I am 42.. with splints daytime and nightime... to get my jaw
back in line and then get braces in december. SO far every symptom
has gone away so I am just putting in time to wait for my jaw bones
to to restructure themselves.

what were your options ?
What would you change ?
How long did you wear braces for ?
