I had braces when I was 18 years old. I only had them on the bottom
and wore a halwley retainer on top. After the braces came off I had
a bonded retainer and then a plastic one. The ortho and my dentist
have always look at my bite since and said that it was in good
shape. A few months ago I was at the ENT doctor to check on my
snoring and ask about a sleep study test. At that time He also
looked at my bite and said it look good. I had a sleep study done
and I have sleep apena. Not sure at this time what is causing it I
have an apt. in Aug to go over the study.
Here is some of my questions and wonder if anyone has any answers.
1) Can you have a jaw that is in good shape and align properly but
is to far back and causes sleep apena? Would the doctors and dentsit
not see this?
2) How many people had a sleep study done and found that the problem
was with the jaw?
I have a dentist apt. in a couple of weeks and going to ask about it
and maybe see about getting some updated jaw pictures and take them
to the ENT doctor and have him look at them.
I was just wondering if anyone else had any advice.
Iam also going to post this in the main section also.
Thanks
Chris
