Well, I went to the orthodontist yesterday and he removed my
braces. I get my retainers on Monday (had impressions done
yesterday.) The removal process was painful. I had taken 4
ibuprofen beforehand. I recommend 4 ibuprofen, 2 extra strength
Tylenol, and anything else you may have! Fortunately, it only
lasted a short while. The process of scraping the glue off didn't
bother me at all after that! Man! It feels so good to not have
things scraping my insides of my lips all of the time! They gave me
a "goodie bag" for being a good girl, though. I had my first
Twizzlers in over a year! It was ike manna from heaven. And
brushing is so interesting. Don't have to get out my little brushy
thingy to get around the brackets well.

My grandson doesn't know what to make of the whole thing. You see,
my braces was a source of amusement for him. I would show him my
teeth, then clinch my lips shut. He would then make the cutest
little "squinchy face" to get me to show him again! Now I show him
my teeth and he seems totally unimpressed.

I will let y'all know how the retainers do. My teeth look great.
They are so nice and straight! My husband was the last one in the
house to notice that I no longer had all of the hardware in my
mouth. What can I say. He's a guy.
