It was unbelievable how much my symptoms went away with my splint.
The only draw back was getting use to wearing it 24/7. It took a bit
to get used to talking with it too. (you do an awful lot of repeating)
I wore mine for about 6 months all the time. Then started to take it
out up to 10 minutes a day off and on. Then worked my way up to 8
hours out a day. My symptoms came back when I had it out but when I
put the splint back in they went away pretty fast. Ask for wax. It
helped me get used to the wires against my cheek. I also used oral jel
for a while. I still wear it to eat. My ortho said I don't have to
but I find chewing the worse so I keep it in for that. I wear it
every night and I don't know how I'm gonna go without it when I get my
braces. Did your ortho say if you would need surgery? How long did u
go with your symptoms before trying an orthodontist? When do you
start your physio or have you already? Keep in touch.
