I've had my braces fro about 15 months and hopefully have only 3 to go.  I am going through some severe temperature sensitivity right now so I need to drink through a straw and can't eat any cold foods, use mouthwash, or even breathe with my mouth open.  I have been using toothpaste for sensitive teeth for about a week now, but it hasn't been helping.  Is tooth sensitivity a side effect of the braces?  I have been wearing elastics for most of my treatment and I am getting tired of them.  I have these nice Inspire Ice clear brackets, but because I wear elastics, I don't look brace free.
