Bless your heart!  That's just the rudest thing I've ever heard.  You may have needed braces but those guys need a brain transplant!
 
I went to my national writers' conference two weeks ago and ran into at least 4-5 women who were wearing braces.  Two of them are published romance authors.  I chatted with both of them and told them my story and they were so complimentary of my smile and said they hoped their results were as good as mine.
 
Comments from jackasses like those men don't deserve a reply, just a stare that somehow gets across the message that you feel sorry for their ignorance and bad manners.
