My braces came off 4 weeks ago today and I've had the upper retainer
for two weeks now. I still just sit and stare at how straight my
teeth are. And the retainer just isn't a big deal at all. Since I
work from home, it's not a problem to wear it 24/7, though I will
admit I've probably only averaged 20 hours a day for the past week.
I've been visiting my sister and many times I'd take it out when we
left home to go eat. Try as I might, there just isn't any way to
remove it gracefully and not gross someone out. Right now it's in a
cup with Efferdent, being disinfected. I fly home tomorrow.
