Sorry to hear about the discomfort post powerchain installation, but I
can definitely empathize. The techs at my ortho's office have learned
to hate the ceramic brackets. I was getting clear powerchains for a
while (after one other patient yelled at my orthodontist for not
offering clear), and the techs find it nearly impossible to hook them
around the larger, ceramic brackets.
I keep breaking the links on the powerchains. In fact, when I was on
vacation a couple of weeks ago, and didn't have access to an
orthodontist, I managed to break all but two links. When I returned
and the tech was replacing it, I told her to just use pink (since I've
had color on and off the entire time). Still, she broke three chains
and ended up doubling up the last one in one place. (Now a week
later, I've managed to break two links.)
I don't mind the elastics. In fact, I feel kind of naked without
them, but these power chains are driving me bonkers.
Looks like we're coming down the home stretch now, Marilyn.
