Stolen Sisters - Help break the silence
Janna Pratt joins marchers on 22 July 2005 in Saskatoon to draw attention to the
plight of missing Indigenous women. Troy Fleece, The Canadian Press
According to Canadian government statistics, young Indigenous women in Canada
are at least five times more likely than all other women to die as a result of
violence.
Although there have been some welcome initiatives undertaken by both levels of
government, significant gaps remain in the protection of Indigenous women's
human rights.
Please support our continuing efforts to urge the federal government to
establish a comprehensive and coordinated plan of action to stop violence
against Indigenous women.
