Police Reveal Details in Child Porn Investigation
Ju;y 31, 2006 - Pictures taken from a hidden camera, triggered a violent
struggle inside a South Valley department store. 52-year old Oscar Gutierrez was
in jail Monday night, after police say shoppers caught him looking up women's
dresses with a hidden camera.
Gutierrez works has worked at Corcoran State Prison for the past six years.
Monday, he was accused of taking illegal pictures inside Kohl's Department
Store. Police say Gutierrez was taking pictures up women's skirts in the
dressing room. And when a witness saw him, employees and others in the store
tried to stop him. After a struggle, they held him down until police arrived and
Gutierrez was arrested. Police then searched his home.

"There were some photos of underage children when a search warrant was executed
at his residence. Now whether these photos were taken by him, or whether these
photos were obtained over the internet, that has not been determined yet," said
Sergeant Gary Williams of the Visalia Police Department. "I think its absolutely
horrible. I can't even imagine someone doing that sort of thing, but
unfortunately, it's just a sign of our times, which doesn't say much for our
society right now," said Kohl's employee Marilyn Thomas. The property manager at
the Visalia apartment complex, where Guiterrez lives, described him as a normal,
nice man who has two adult sons. The manager is shocked by the allegations
brought against his tenant. Police say it is possible more charges could be
brought against Gutierrez, depending on what is found during the investigation.
He's expected to be in court for his arraignment Tuesday.
