FBI Adds Jeffs to 10 Most Wanted, Says He Could Seek Shelter in KOTA

The FBI lists South Dakota as one of the
places Warren Steed Jeffs may be hiding. He is linked to an alleged
polygamist compound near Pringle.

This past week Jeffs was slapped with more
charges, for leaving Utah to avoid prosecution. He faces sex charges in
Arizona and Utah. And today, the FBI followed up by moving him to their
top ten list of most wanted criminals.

The Bureau now offers a $100,000 reward
for information leading to his arrest.

The self-proclaimed prophet and leader of
the Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints, which broke off from the
mainstream Morman church after polygamy was banned more than 100 years
ago, has about 10,000 followers.

The FBI reports he's not been seen in
public since 2004, should be considered armed and dangerous, and may
travel with armed body guards.

Polygamist leader wanted on more charges

The man known as the prophet of the
Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is wanted on
more charges.

This time, Warren Jeffs is accused of unlawful
flight for leaving Utah to avoid prosecution. The charges allege that
Jeffs conducted a "spiritual marriage" between a teenage girl and an
older man, and facilitated rape.

In March, a Utah newspaper uncovered documents
that linked Jeffs to an alleged polygamist compound near Pringle, South
Dakota.

Jeffs is one of the FBI's most wanted fugitives
for his role in alleged sex crimes. There's a bounty of $60,000 on his
head.
