Its nice to hear a happy story. I am a mother of a 6 yr. old daughter who
was born and diagnosed at birth w/CAH. She has and continues to do
beautifully to-day. By all appearance also, has had no growing problems asshe
is right on target for a girl of her age. She had one adrenal crises at age 3,
rota-virus, vomiting/diarrhea. But w/the shot and a trip to the
hospital to make sure all her levels were normal, she came out w/only mild
dehydration and was put on an IV. We took her home a few hours later.
There is no reason children w/CAH cannot have a normal life. The important
thing to always remember, besides having the a few bottles of solu-cortef on
hand at all times and learning how to give a shot, is giving them their medicine
on time and regularly.
