Debbie,
I SO appreciated your email. Yes, we feel very fortunate that our little
girl has done so well considering everything. The doctor's can't believe it
either. She is my miracle. However, I can't say that I haven't spent nights
last summer praying desperatly that she wouldn't be taken from me and to help
us figure out what is wrong.
As far as we know, she is not salt-wasting, although that has me perplexed,
since she has been vomiting, on average, once a day since she was born--a
little more frequently, but smaller amounts, since she got the meds. Today
was a better day--no vomiting yet. :) However, the doctors also said she
may still turn out to be salt-wasting--that maybe they tested her on a "good
day."
We live here in Indianapolis, near Riley Children's hospital, which is an
incredible hospital, and she has a great endo doctor to go see. We haven't
had the urologist appt. yet, but it is this coming month, and I am scared
stiff. I would love to know more about the surgerys...I am still nursing her
too, and she eats every three hours, so I am curious to see how things go
with that. I do want to do the surgeries early though, so she won't remember
them. Although if she did need something done later in life, at least my
husbands profession is as a therapist.
Need to go get my kids ready for Halloween!
