Hi, Im new to the group and am desperatly looking for help.

My son has been going through some high anxiety and depression with self
mutilation. He has been dx'd with ADHD. and recently took him to his therapist
for further eval's... So far the therapist said he is not done doing his report
but the first dx is adjustment disorder with anxiety and depressed mood.
My question is:
Can my child have both ADHD and adjustment disorder?
Also, With all the reading it says this is caused by a stressor. Well, he has
had behavioral probs and anger, anxiety since he was 2. Im really questioning
this DX. Also I go in to have an IEP meeting tomorrow morning and am fighting
for a one on one para. I want to have some excellent points.. However with this
DX Im afraid they will just say oh its temporary and just throw it out.
I have a call in to the therapis to find out if this is dx'd as chronic (does
that mean he could have had it for a long time and it isnt a short term thing)
or if the therapist is just thinking acute,,

Can anyone help me?
