I have had Adie's for over 15 years (cause unknown).
I little over a month ago I had LASIK at Stanford
Hospital. The doctor who treated me went ahead after
consulting with a neurologist. My far vision is
vastly improved, and I think my light sensitivity is a
little less, particularly compared to wearing contact
lenses. However, as I was warned, my near vision is
worse, though I see fine with reading glasses. I was
already starting to occasionally need reading glasses
(I am 50) so I decided that it overall was worth it.
Since my vision with outdoor activities like cycling,
golfing, skiing, etc. is much improved, overall I
think it was worth it. By the way, regarding night
vision, I never had much trouble, and I do not think
LASIK has changed the situation much one way or the
other.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have other
questions.
