I have similar symptoms to addie syndrome, however, I have not been
diagnosed as such yet. Right now, they are calling it optic neuropathy with
afferent pupillary defect. My pupil is not always large.
I am seeing a neuro-optomolgist next week. I have been having these
symptoms for 4 years now. Light seems to be a factor. My vision in my
right eye is 20/40. My left eye is worse than 20/400 and not correctable
with lens. However it is 20/40 looking through a pinhole. I also can't see
the numbers in that book they test for color blindness with my left eye,
except through the pinhole.
Does any of this sound similar or should I keep looking? My
optomologist says no, but he has also told me there is nothing he can do for
me and to come back for an eye exam in 2 years! I'm not going back to him
again.
I just would really like a diagnosis, so I can just deal with it and get
on with my life. I am functioning fine, but I get headaches and pain in my
face around my eye. Especiallly on sunny days and when I've been in
flourescent light all day.
