My Doctor told me that Adie's Tonic Pupil is a nonblinding eye condition. I have had it now for atleast 3 years. My 12 old niece is going to the Eye Doctor because she also has the bigger pupil going on. She said her's has been like that for about 2years now and we both suffered a tramatic loss when my Mother passed away suddenly 3 years ago and to make it worse she passed away on my nieces birthday. Then the fallowing year my niece was bitten by a baby Copper Head snake while on Holiday. So it seems that stress may be a factor with this eye condition in some cases.
Make sure your daughter wears sunglasses and a hat while out in the day and try to avoid bright lights also try to avoid long periods on the computer and playing video games. Feel free to email me qcgirl63@... . Good Luck!

My 12 year old daughter has suffered 2 bouts of shingles around her
waist over the last couple of months. These have responded well to
acyclovir.
This week she started complaining about eye strain and I made an
appointment at the opticians. The optician asked us whether anyone
had ever commented that she had one pupil much bigger than the other.
He then alarmed us by giving us a referral letter for my doctor to
send to the Royal Free Hospital in London.
After much hunting on the web, I discovered your support group.
There seems to be a connection with the shingles and the eyes. Can
anyone advise me about what sort of questions I should ask. The
National Health Service will be slow about providing an appointment.
How urgent is it that she is seen immediately?
We are very worried about this. Any helpful advice would be
welcomed.
