Hi to all, I am new to this group. I decided to finally join a group
where I could possibly get further information as to what is really
happening. I have been applying for disability for a number of
reasons, and am finding it very hard to describe the discomfort
associated with my tonic pupil.
It is in my left eye, and was diagnosed after i went off work, due to
severe neck burning, and pain, and with my flare up of fybromyalgia.
I have been diagnosed in the past, with occular migraines, and
numerous tiny blind spots on my eyes. The blind spots apparently are
from excessive drinking. i am a recovering addict/alcoholic, and have
been clean for 13 years.
With the fybromyalgia, myoclonus, adies pupil, degenerative disk,
with xrays showing three slightly herniated disks, things get
difficult.
I am facing appeal after appeal with disability as they do not
recognize each 'syndrome' on its own as a disability, but when all
occurring at one time, it makes it very difficult to function.
My Adies Pupil, causes a very high sensitivity to bright light, I
find it difficult to read anything on white paper, or bright coloured
paper. I get double vision in my peripheral 'zones' or areas,
whatever the terms may be. When going from daylight to darkness, I am
blinded completely in my left eye.
I find I am actually using my right eye more than the left
automatically and it puts a strain on myright eye.
As far as the cosmetic approach of having different sized pupils, i
couldn't care less. It is the debilitating effects of not being able
to look at bright areas, screens, paper, walls, and trying to explain
to people how it feels, when they don't consider it a major deal.
I apologize if i appear frustrated, but with all things inclusive, I
am tired.
I have depression for which i take two medications, and one of them
causes slow focusing in the eyes.
I am not one to complain but am finding it difficult to obtain any
help, so am trying to be able to describe what i feel.
I need help in explaining it to professionals so they understand all
of the symptoms I am experiencing at this time.
Thanks for listening.
