Carnation Instant Breakfast
Milk Shakes
My DS (16) is thin, but proportioned. His appetite is always greatest in the
morning. He has a huge breakfast. It ranges from 3 bowls of cereal with milk
and a Carnation with fruit on the side, to leftovers from the night before to
soup to oatmeal, eggs and toast, pancakes . . . whatever he'll eat.
For lunch (when his appetite is somewhat decreased) he has a sandwich and
sometimes a piece of fruit or a cheese stick. By the time he gets home, he is
very hungry. He'll have a snack (could be fruit, yogurt . . . whatever is in
the fridge).
He eats a good supper. the biggest thing I have found that helps is balancing
carbs and proteins. He needs to have some source of protein and carb @ each
meal. Now, for him on weekends, meals are more like day-long grazing fests!
That's alright.
So, that's how we handle. Oh, he is on Focalin XR. That has not interrupted
either his growth or weight gain.

Subject: [ADHD Parents Support Group] weight loss on Vyvanse
My 7 yr old started Vyvanse three months ago and has already lost 5 pounds due
to the loss of appatite side affect. Does anyone know of a suppliment for kids
to help or a healthy high calorie food that he might like?
