RE: [ADHD Parents Support Group] Stratterra and Tics

My son had Tourette's as well as ADHD and Obsissive Compulsive Disorder. When
he was on Concerta, very little tics, we switched to Adderral and much worse,
back to Concerta and back to normal. Both stimulants - go figure!

Sarah Baxter <sjbaxter@...> wrote:My son takes stratterra - he had tics with
Ritalin (opening and
stretching his mouth really wide). When we took him off Ritalin for the
summer it was stopped within 6 weeks. We tried it again and the tic was
moving his shoulder against his ear (like a shrug). Then he developed
a new one - looks like both eyes are rolling up (like he is rolling his
eyes at you) but you can tell it is a tic if you pay attention. So we
stopped the Ritalin and they went away for the most part. We tried
focalin a week and a half ago and whoa did the eyes roll! We stopped
and it is starting to reduce again, but it seems to be much worse than
the last time. Does this mean it will not go away?

Hi everyone and Terry,
Impulsive behavior is common w/ADHD, sometimes anti-depressants are used
to help control them, talk to her Dr. about it-it can't hurt! Adderall
and anti-depressants have helped my son control his impulsive behavior,
maybe they can help u as well. Good luck!!
Brenda
