I have found that melatonin works excellent for me to help me sleep
through the night and wake up and actually feel like had slept the
whole night. I take 4 mg right now about 9pm. It is better than any
sleeping pill as the body produces it at night to induce sleep anyway.
When I first started taking it I took 9 mg after a couple of months
but have been reducing it by 1 mg per month until I get to three. I
am not a doctor by the way, but I have researched the heck out of
melatonin. I recommend for healthy people take 1 mg if you are 40,
2mg if you are 50 and so on. If you have a substanial medical
problem you can ad 1 to 2 mg to those numbers. Keep in mind that you
may have to play with doses and times and that you should not take if
you are going to drive or do something that requires you to be alert.
Read "The Melatonin miracle". This book should be read healthy and
non-healthy people.
