small veins where there is an indication of clotting in our system.

Hello Everyone,
I'd like to share some info about an upcoming Master Tung seminar in San
Jose, CA on Oct 21,22 & 28,29. It's going to be an incredible seminar with
a lot of knowledge passed on!
Some common questions people ask regarding the seminar is...
"How is this seminar different from all the other Tong seminars?"
To be brief, Esther is going to teach HOW and WHY the Tong system is
effective, how it relates to the fundamental principles of the Tai Chi
meridian theory, how the Tong system relates to traditional acupuncture
points and other common systems and to use these and integrate them into
your practice. With this in-depth view, it allows practitioners to really
learn and benefit a lot more than just a "cook book" recipe style.
Also it is limited to 15 people to encourage questions, discussion and
hands-on learning.
If you have specific questions, please feel free to call Esther Su at
408-263-4267.
Seminar info is pasted below and attached to this email.
Thank you,
Peter

erworkedmodernstudysuggests
The doctors of ancient Greece and China had it right when they applied
cool and minty salves to soothe aches and pains, a new study suggests.
A synthetic treatment with the same properties as mint oil is an
effective painkiller when applied directly to the skin. The new cooling
compounds could be especially beneficial to millions suffering with the
chronic pain of arthritis and diseases affecting nerve endings, scientists
say.
"They work particularly well in ongoing pain states where the nervous
system becomes hypersensitive so even the lightest touch becomes
painful," said study leader Susan Fleetwood-Walker, a professor of
neuroscience at the University of Edinburgh.
Ancient smarts
Healers in ancient Chinese societies treated injuries with mint oil, which
contains anti-inflammatory properties and produces a cooling effect on
the skin.
Cold compresses were also recommended in the fifth century BC by
Hippocrates, who is considered the father of modern medicine. Swelling
and joint pain could be eased by the numbing effect of copious amounts
of cold water, the ancient Greek scholar said.
The new compounds use the same soothing chemicals found in mint oil,
but incorporate a few other important elements that work specifically
with a pain receptor nerve in the skin called TRTM8, newly discovered
by Fleetwood-Walker and her team.
"Chemicals in mint oil and cooling the skin can activate these painkilling
nerves but neither traditional method is very specific," she told
LiveScience. "We have shown that the TRTM8 receptor is the critical
molecular target for this pain killing effect."
Special analgesic ingredients in the compounds—telling the receptor to
turn off pain messages going to the brain—make them even more
effective, the results showed.
Fewer side-effects
The minty formula offers significant advantages versus some other pain
medications, which do not always work on sufferers of long-term pain,
say the researchers.
"Some types of chronic pain, especially following nerve injury, are
resistant to morphine," Fleetwood-Walker said. "These compounds act
powerfully as pain killers on many types of chronic pain including nerve
injury pain."
Because the compounds are applied externally, they should also come
with a shorter list of potential adverse reactions, she said. "They seem
to be just as powerful as morphine, but work through an entirely
separate mechanism, with what we think will be less side effects.
"The findings appear in an August issue of the journal Current Biology.

Dear Erwin,
Thank you for reminding me about auricular therapy. Currently, Kate is having Ki
Therapy daily from a Japanese practitioner. We travel daily to London (10 hours,
290 miles per day, so tiring!). She has seen him for six sessions, and his
energy has completely changed the pelvic area of her body and has loosened a lot
of very tight areas. He believes her problems are due to injury (slow, not
traumatic). She now walks and moves in a very obviously different way.
We start another five days of travelling and treatment on Monday. I trust this
will soon (?) make an enormous difference, though now she is frightened and in
great pain.

Hi, my names is erwin haid. I live in mexico, but I can tell you that one of
the best resources you have is auricular therapy. in fact, there´s no need fo r
you to use needles on the patient, since she is so deteriorated. Ear therapy is
a branch of chinese of medicine and acupuncture. It´s totally safe, because its
effect on the human body is always regulating. For application in the ear, you
can do it by uisng tiny metal pellets or radish seeds which are stuck for a few
days in one ear, then the other and so on. If there is a therapyst who practices
this system, would be the best. Once the patient is better, she will be able to
take acupuncture.
There are lots of illustrations you can download and learn the ear points. If
you wish, I could help via e-mail in case you need.
Regards and good luck.

Thank you for your reply and suggestion. I have responded about the Japanese Ki
Therapy Kate is currently undergoing. She is aware her brain needs attention -
at the moment it is in chaos and very sensitive to all sounds, smells, changes
in light, etc. This, we hope, will be helped soon.

It is sorry to hear about your doughter's illness,I am
very sphympoathatic about it.
In my point of the view ,it is not a good idea to use
needling to solve it ,for as your said ,she is is so
fragile and she has severe allergies,... go into
shock, etc,I am not say it can not do ,but it is hard
to do by it.
The best way is by useing a Tradional Chinese edicinal
herb, to reactive her brain function into
comparatively normal.
As we all know there is no evidence of any psychiatric
disorder in a sizable number of patients with this
illness. However, in laboratory tests, there is
evidence of abnormalities in the brain and immune
system of many of these patients.... We still do not
understand the cause of chronic fatigue syndrome, but
studies around the world show it is not ... "all in
their heads".
So,put more effets into the reform her brain function
is the key procedure.

She lives in Herefordshire and can travel up to about 100 miles.
Many thanks for reading this far!

P.S. We have lists from the various acupuncture associations, but
these give little away about the expertise of the therapists.

Can anyone give to me an opinion in this clinical case:
Main complaint:
Pain in the pulse, without apparent origin. It started with swell,
heat, functional immobility, With the time these symptoms had
disappeared and pain it attenuated, but the patient continues to feel,
sometimes, pain to the level of the Lung 9 (Taiyuan)
with sensation of pricked, mainly after making some effort. At this
moment, starts to feel hand asleep and pain starts to radiate it the
elbow.
Complementary data:
Woman, 54 years, with professional activity of responsibility.
Asthmatic, with problems in the joints. Loss of hearing, cellulite and
fat located in the zone of the abdomen and thighs.
Have a sensible skin, trend to eczema. Problems with sanguineous
circulation in the legs and many spills in the zone of the thighs.
Arrhythmias.
The breath is short for effort, sweats during the night, during the
day no sweat. Feels sometimes sleepiness, prefers the heat, have
good appetite with a diet +/- balanced (more Yang), but with difficult
digestions followed with abdominal swell and stomach weighed.
Flatulence, external haemorrhoids, difficulty to defecate
(constipation) with soft excrements.
Gingivitis and sensation of flavour bitter taste in the mouth.
Not have necessity to drink liquids, nor drinks much water, drinking
normally tea. Abundant clear urine , many times in the day and also
during the night. And lately has small losses of involuntary urine
(trend the incontinence)
Feels noises in the ears, vertigos, loss of hearing since very new,
feels much tingle in the ears.
Muddy sight, sand sensation in the eyes. Fine pale language with
saburra white.
syndrome associate to this case in my opinion:
- syndrome sinking Qi (QiXiaxian) / syndrome Yang empty
- syndrome lung insufficience and spleen insufficience with Phlegm and
moistness
- syndrome kidney inufficience
The treatment in use is:
stimulate the energy: governor vessel 4, bladder 23, conception vessel 6
Moxa governor vessel 20 and curious point 1 to ascend Yang
to regulate the center and Yangming: stomach 36, conception vessel 12,

My daughter (37) has had ME/CFS etc. for some 20 years. Eight years
ago, she nearly died and was unable to walk for three years. She
gradually improved, but last Sunday, she deteriorated rapidly and is
going down hill fast. She asks me if I can find someone to treat her
very soon.
This person must be very experienced, indeed she asks for a miracle
worker, because she is so fragile. She has severe allergies, constant
pain throughout her body, particularly excruciating uterine pain all
the time (worse during her period, when she can vomit, go into shock,
etc). She has gut problems, neurotransmitter problems, nervous system
irregularities, lots of problems with sensory perception, sensory
malfunction, etc. She states she is unlike other patients with ME/CFS,
because she is so much more fragile. She is very over-reactive to
stimulation and is going into shock all the time at the moment. She
needs someone very experienced to bring her body back into balance
again. She is very frightened of getting worse and going through all
she has been through before.
Im sure I written enough to explain how unusual and complex she is.
If you are someone who could help her quickly or know of someone who
could, she and I would be most grateful
She lives in Herefordshire and can travel up to about 100 miles.
Many thanks for reading this far!

P.S. We have lists from the various acupuncture associations, but
these give little away about the expertise of the therapists.
P.P.S. I am happy to be telephoned on 01684 560354.
Ola a todos, sou nova no grupo, sou de potugal!
Alguem me pode dar uma opinião neste caso clínico:
Queixa principal:
involuntária (tendência a incontinência)

The Central Acupuncture Institute and Phuong Bac Travel Company
have started a tour in combination with treating diseases by using
acupuncture. The tour includes two key forms: convalescent travelling
and disease treatment tourism at the institute.
There will two doctors and four professional convalesce experts joining
a tour with about 20 tourists to give acupuncture healthcare to tourists,
said professor Nguyen Tai Thu, head of the programme.
At present, the Central Acupuncture Institute has made a detailed
programme for treating 56 normal diseases such as backache, vestibule
disorders, sleeplessness and headache.
The tour has kicked off with a group tourists from Australia and "we will
receive the second group of tourists from Sweden," said Nguyen Viet
Thai, deputy head of the tour programme.
The Australian tourists called at the Acupuncture Institute, received
overall medicinal checks-up and have a medicinal herb bath in
combination with sauna and massage, Mr Thai added.
Swedish tourists will ask doctors and point acupuncture experts to travel
along with them to different places of interest in Vietnam, said Mr Thai.
Those who want to book the tour can dial 0903209151 at Phuong Bac
Tourism Company or dial 04.5632.577 at the Central Acupuncture
Institute.
One of the interesting things of the tour is "having medicinal herb bath,
eating medicinal herb soup and medicinal herb sauna and massage,"
according to the institute. Tourists bathe in a wooden bucket with water
cooked from medicinal herbs. This service package costs VND 120,000
(US $8) a tourist.
At present, the Central Acupuncture Institute has 30 bathrooms, being
able to serve 50 tourists at the same time.
"With the current number of staff members, apart from serving tourists
at the institute, we can send doctors and acupuncture experts to meet
the need of only one or two groups of tourists. But, with the tendency,
the tour will develop rapidly in the future," said Mr Thai.

The 'victims' are mostly in the medical profession and have associated
disorders of Lyme disease, FMS/CFS.
May be the advent of the superbugs we're always hearing about

Dear Practitioner,
I would like to invite you to you to join us in beautiful Western
Massachussetts for our next intensive taught by Dr. Kunchock Gyaltsen.
Health of Body, Mind & Spirit in Tibetan Medicine will explore the
interdependent relationship between the physical human body and the human
mind and the many factors that contribute to a person’s health or infirmity.
As both a doctor and a monk, his teaching will be a balance between the
scientific and the spiritual, such as the connection with the Medicine
Buddha. This is the first time that he will teach this course here in the
US. I hope you can join us.
Blessings,
Matthew Schmookler

Estrogen dominance, women's problems, amenorrhea, and menopause Excessive
estrogens and stagnation of blood circulation are the major cause of most
women's problems including breast, uterine and ovarian cancers. According to Dr.
John R. Lee in his book "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause: the
Breakthrough Book on Natural Progesterone" (Warner Books, 1996), estrogen
dominance is the cause of most women's chronic health problems. We are living in
a polluted world where estrogens are present in almost every type of food that
we eat. Since the liver is the organ that removes estrogens, a weak liver that
fails to remove estrogens efficiently may lead to their accumulation for liver
cleansing and strengthening. When excessive estrogens become trapped in the
uterus, ovary, or breast due to stagnation, they over stimulate cell division
and lead to abnormal growth such as fibroids, cysts or cancer in these organs.
Estrogens may also be accumulated in the brain or
liver because they both have estrogen receptors.
PMS A common woman's problem, PMS, is usually caused by high estrogen to
progesterone ratio; the estrogen level may not be high in absolute value but is
high relative to progesterone. The common symptoms of PMS such as mood swings,
depression and bloating are all signs of estrogen dominance. Evening Primrose
oil, which contains estrogenic activity, is a popular supplement for PMS
sufferers. It offers quick relief for PMS symptoms but long-term use may
aggravate the problems. Most people don't realize this. A PMS sufferer who had
been taking evening primrose oil for 4 years came to see me. Her thighs were
swollen with water retention due to excessive estrogens. After I told her to
stop taking evening primrose oil, her swollen thighs became normal in about a
month's time.

Menstruation
