Re: Injured from Acupunture

Hi,

Where did your acupuncturist put needles at? Neck? Or Lower back?
C5-T1 nerves distribute in your arm and L4-S1 nerves distribute in
your leg (lateral and posterior). Put needles in your lower back might
cause shooting pain down into your leg but not your neck. Put needles
in your neck may cause shooting pain in your arm but not your leg. If
put needles in your lower back and you have shooting pain in your arm
then it can not be explained by anatomic theory although you
experienced it.

Acupuncture is safe and generally won't cause nerve damage. Maybe it
is due to you are over-react to acupuncture treatment.Apply some
massage or let your acupuncturist apply moxibustion in your painful
area. Hope it helps.
