Re: [Acupuncture Forum] Acupuncture for pain relief

About 3~4 years ago, I treated one epiditimytis case which might be a good
reference for you:

Age,46. Pattern differentiation: liver meridian damp heat.
Herbal formula: Long Dan Xie Gan Tang plus a few:

Tu Yin Chen, Sheng Di Huang: 15g each
Long Dan Cao, Sheng Shan Zhi, Huang Qin, Chai Hu, Mu Tong, Ze Xie, Che Qian
Zi,
Xiang Fu, Cang Zhu, Chuang Xiong, Shen Qu, Ju He, Li Zhi He, Shan Zha He,
Yan Hu Suo,
Wu Yao: 10g each
Dang Gui: 6 g

Acupuncture: Liv 3, Liv5, Liv 12, Sp9, Sp10, Ren4, Li10 Twice a week

It took 3 weeks before the patient felt 80% of the pain was gone. Released after
3 months of treatment.

Note: the addition of Liv 12 appeared to make a significant difference.

I hope this helps!

This is going to sound like some kind of twisted or fetish question,
but please know it's a sincere one. As a result of vasectomy, I
gradually developed post-vasectomy pain syndrome in the epidydimis on
both sides, as both cut/seared ends of the vas deferens were also
clamped - as opposed to what is referred to as an "open-ended"
vasectomy, where the non-testicle side is clamped, but the vas on the
testicular side of the cut is left open to allow drainaged/prevent
blockage.

I have gone thru anti-inflammatories by prescription, and basically
urologist - who is very qualified and honest - said that if it
becomes unbearable, epididymis could be removed. I once saw on a web
site a specific acupuncture/electrical procedure that was supposedly
helpful in alleviation of pain/swelling of the epidydimis, but cannot
find it - any help would be sincerely appreciated.
