Schedule: On-Call


Education: Current license to practice Acupuncture in the State of
California. Graduate of an accredited school and four academic years
of education.


Qualifications: Proven record of ability to communicate with
patients, physicians and other medical center personnel. Ability to
work flexible hours required. Excellent attendance and work record
required. Postgraduate degree preferred i.e. PH.D in related fields,
(Doctor of Naturopathy), O.M.D (Doctor of Oriental Medicine),
coursework in behavioral psychology preferred. Previous work with
Chronic Pain patients preferred. Bilingual skills (Spanish or
Chinese) preferred. In all interactions with patients, members,
physicians, staff and visitors demonstrates service-oriented
behaviors that include culturally sensitive good manners, respect
and polite communications. Demonstrated openness to creative and
innovative approaches o providing service.


Duties: Provides assessment and treatment for patients with chronic
pain conditions including group-based interventions. Utilizes
acupuncture to prevent or modify the perception of pain or to
normalize physiological functions. May perform or prescribe the use
of Oriental massage, acupressure, breathing techniques, exercise or
nutrition.
