Cuba uses acupuncture for treating psychological problems

Havana, June 8 (VNA) - Cuban scientists of the Psychology Centre in
Pinar del Rio province affirmed acupuncture as an effective
treatment of patients with minor psychological problems.

The scientists' reseach and feld testing conducted over the past
four years have proven that the Oriental-originating treatment was
helpful on 92 percent of patients coping with a lack of confidence
and 95 percent of patients suffering from anxiety.

Cuba has used acupuncture in medical treatment since the late
1980's, later than Argentina, which became the first country in
Latin America to apply this method of treatment.-Enditem
