Depending on the degree of tear, healing ligament takes time. Ask
your doctor if surgery can be delayed and wait a few weeks to see if
the swelling will go down. Meanwhile, ask your doctor what you can
do to help maintain you knee functions(ice, heat, physical therapy).
Acupuncture can be beneficial in pain reduction, decrease swelling,
and help maintain range of motion of the knee. Periodcally check the
progress with your doctor. If anytime your pain, swelling, or knee
movements worsen, contact your doctor.
