Acupuncture Treats Insomnia, Emotional Disorder and ADHD Through Balancing
Biochemistry in Brain

ABSTRACT: Objective: To explore the effect of treating insomnia, emotional
disorder (i.e., anxiety, depression or stress), and ADHD (Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder) with acupuncture. Methods: 55 cases of insomnia,
emotion disorder and ADHD were treated with acupuncture through two group
acupuncture (scalp and body) points. The therapeutic effects were assessed and
compared by the Self-Rating Scale of Sleeping, emotion and activities.
Results:
Total effective rate was 96.36% in the 55 patients; 95.47 in the 47 insomnia
patients; 89.74% in the 39 emotion disorder patients, and 100% in the 3 ADHD
patients. Conclusion: Acupuncture can balance the biochemistry in the brain to
solve different symptoms that caused by imbalanced neurochemistry. Its
therapeutic effect is straightforward and safe with fewer side effects (a
little pain
when insert the needles). It is useful and no side effect of addiction for
treating patients with multiple diseases.
