Hi everyone:
Two years ago, I got back on the fitness trail by jogging and lifting
light weights. I lost quite a lot of weight that way.
A few months back my right knee started to hurt (tissue inflametion)
whenever I went jogging, biking, or even swimming. Now I can't jog,
swim or bike, or even walk long distances. I have since put back on
some of the weight that I had lost.
I went to an orthopedic surgeon who looked at my x-rays and MRI scans
and said there no was cartilage erosion, no torn ligments whatsoever.
I went to a traditional healer who said that the principal cause was
that my knee "went out of proper location" due to injuries I suffered
when I was younger. (I was in an motorcycle accident about 19 years
ago where I was thrown from the bike). Even so, he cannot fix the
problem.
I thought about what he said and it made sense, since I've had some
pain in my right knee off and on in the last 10 years or so,
especially after physcial exertion, but had made nothing of it before
this. Possibly my exercise regime of the last 2 years has been
more intense than anytime after my accident, plus I am getting older
(35).
So I believe what's happening is that the bones are rubbing soft
tissue whenever there is joint movement in my knee, since the knee is
out of its proper position.
My question is, is there anything in TCM that can help me?
Thanks.
