ABIRA is a brain injury survivor yahoo group suitable for people who need the assistance of someone else, for example, a caregiver spouse, in order that the survivor be able to participate with the rest of the group. A person who might like this group may be working on relearning skills that were compromised by the brain injury. Skills might include reading, writing, typing or problem solving. This is an on-line peer support group. Members in this group may have had an acquired brain injury (abi) from traumatic brain injury (tbi), stroke, tumor or illness. Family caregivers are welcome to communicate with the moderator regarding the specific concept here. This group is affiliated with the Brain Injury Network (www.braininjurynetwork.org) which is a survivor-operated, national, advocacy organization for people with acquired brain injuries.
