Let me start with a brief description of myself, I am a 32 yr old
male who has undergone 3 major surgeries, one on my cervical from C2-
C7 and two on my lumbar from L2-L7 for spinal stenosis, the last
surgery was done 5 years ago, today I am doing quite well and I dont
need a walker or cane and for the most part do ok, occasionally I
have bad days physically but that is expected. The reason for this
question is because I have been going thru increased back pain and
weakness and tingling in my legs at times. I saw my neurosurgeon and
he noticed an area of stenosis just above the lumbar in my thoracic
area, trouble is if he does this surgery it will require a fusion and
a rod inserted in my back because my spine is going significantly
crooked, my concern is how I will do with a rod in my back, has
anyone had this done and how do you get around today, I know I will
be limited but what limitations will I encounter and how will I be
able to compensate for what I loose. I am seeing the doctor in a
month but I needed an opinion from someone who has gone thru this,
please email me describing what you have gone thru and how are you
doing today.
