Why knowing more about rosacea treatments could be harmful for you?
One of my friends bought a house doctor type of book and since then if
you even scratch your head in front of him, he would start warning you
about at least thirty diseases and their consequences, which you might
be suffering from with their definitions. When I was diagnosed with
rosacea i read articles, looked around for the magic treatment, travel
long distances just to find the right doctor or skin specialist and
studied more complicated books then I actually studied in my degree
program.
The result of all that was not encouraging, even though I learnt by
heart most of the things about rosacea, my face redness, flare-ups and
oiliness just increased day by day. I was frustrated with my life,
with everything. I mean I tried treatments, read books, searched
articles for hours, changed doctors who were costing me a fortune but
unfortunately nothing worked. Why me? The question I used to ask
myself everyday for which the answer I still don't know.
I know that some of you might be going through this phase as well. The
problem is when you read more, you know more about rosacea and as a
result the more you are likely to try different treatments to control
your rosacea, which might and might not work. In some cases it might
increase your redness and flare-ups, like it did for me.
It is still a mystery even for some doctors that which treatment is
actually right for you. There are different categories of rosacea,
and unfortunately what causes rosacea is still not known. It is not
that treatments do not work with rosacea, some treatments work well
with rosacea but the main problem is when you read someone experiences
with rosacea you consider yourself to be that person and you start
trying that treatment. You completely forget that what worked for
someone else might not work for you.
So before you apply new treatment I sincerely suggest you, to give it
a break for a while, like I did and which worked. I started drinking
more water, instead of 6 to 8 glasses, I was drinking 16 to 20
glasses, which I still do, and it worked for my rosacea flare-ups, not
straight away but took about a month at least. I stopped washing my
face with medicated soaps and started washing it with warm water and
it worked. I started using Jojoba oil in the mornings and in the
evenings, just one drop after washing my face with water, which I
discovered through http://www.rosaceatips.com and it worked.
I know it sounds difficult but if you just rise above your emotions
for a while, you might be able to make decisions, which will help you
with your rosacea problems.
