Quack arrested

An alleged quack, Rashpal Chana, who claimed to cure AIDS, was today
arrested by the police. A case has been registered at Kotwali police
station.
Meanwhile, drug inspector Dinesh Gupta today conducted surprise
checks at Kullar Medicos and Ranjit Medicos at Nabha and seized 40
types of drugs.
Civil surgeon Usha Dhingra directed the drug inspector to check the
shops on a complaint. Most of these drugs are misused as
intoxicants. During the search, 56,692 tablets, 4,850 capsules, 287
bottles of cough syrup and 297 injections were seized.
The owners of the medical shops failed to produce any purchase
record of these drugs.
On checking Sky Lab Medical Agencies, Natan Wali Gali, Patiala, 58
types of drugs, which were marked as physician sample, were seized.
