Hello all:

Some of you may know me from A.I.M. and others may know the web site
I helped create for A.I.M. and others may know be because I'm like you
suffering from this condition (agrophobia, depression and so on... ).
I've been suffering with this since 1983 or so. I've also been told by
numerous people that this condition is 100% curable and this fact has
kept me going and helped me get better somewhat.

Since it's getting late, let me tell you how this started and will
continue the next day. I have traveled up and down the east coast from
Montrial down to Florida numerous times. I also started learning to fly
since high school. I was told I was a good pilot and should consider
becoming an airline pilot. But back in '83, I was practicing takeoffs
and landings and a large airport in a little Cessna 152. About the
fifth time around, I had this feeling hit me... jumping sounded good,
landing in the too small of field sounded good to, but I did land the
plane. And I did this alone in the plane... I went up the following
week with an instructor and the samething happened. We landed ok.
Following this he told me I did know what I was doing (I thought it was
a lack of confidence) and suggested I see this doctor at the local
university. To make a long story short of doctors, I've seen three
doctors and one hypnothropist who didn't help. Though the hypnosys did
help a little.

So what I've learned of the above incident and a few others since
then is that no matter how bad the panic hits I can still survive. And
I can still overcome the panic and do what needs to be done.

More to come...

Scott
