Taking the time to contact those other anxiety related sites to add our
link was a wonderful idea. I know it to be rather time consuming
ordeal, but I am certain that it will prove to be a worthwhile effort
in generating traffic to this site.

That effort is exactly the type of thing that I was speaking of to help
build the communcation factor within this message board. I too, did not
realize there was a counter associated with this site, though it is
rather sad to realize that there were only 355 hits so far. But, we
have to start somewhere and "Rome was not built in a day" as the old
saying goes. So, I still believe in the future potential for this site
and the effectiveness of the group meetings as a whole.

I wondered if it would be a reasonable thing to do to send an email
letter to all the names that are registered at this site? Re-inviting
them to visit more often and to "talk" about their personal battle with
anxiety. To try and help each other by letting us know what they have
done to help themselves, what words of encouragement they found to help
build their inner strength to fight their personal issues or to let us
know what help that they may need to find the strength to work out
their issues. In other words, can we reach out to the others and
motivate them to participate?

One of the things that I have done to bolster my self-esteem and create
a positive sub-conscious mental attitude within myself has been to hang
pages of my own affirmations all over the house. I have been using a
self sticking gum like material that I bought at a office supply store.
It is made especially for temporarily hanging light weight articles,
such as a sheet of paper, wihtout damaging the surface like transparent
tape often does. Everywhere in our house you will run into my
affirmations. Some of them I created, while others I borrowed from
books or information that I found online. It gives me a chance to read
them and recite them anytime of the day. Also, I have found that my
daughters have been reading them as well. A great little bonus, I must
admit. I keep them up for 3 weeks, 21 days, and then replace them with
new ones while I usually hang on to one or two that I have found to be
most useful to myself. I have found that one of the best places to hang
them is in the bathroom (of all places!) While I am shaving in the
morning I find that I can read and recite them everyday while standing
there.
