Hello Mary Ann,
I was place in a call center position taking calls for the National Passport Information Call Center by Michigan Rehabilitation Services. I work for Peckahm Inc. who has the contract and who is supposed to help support people with disabilities but I find it more stressful. I was made aware before I started the job it is the third most stressful job in America. I was able to work past my anxiety with angry callers and made contributions that helped promote me into a supervisory position. I really don't care to be a supervisor. I know I need to find a job where I can be on my own without a boss constantly over my shoulder. Unfortunately, I stopped using the AIM tools as a part of my daily life change schedule. I know I need to plug those back in like eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The one thing I need to overcome is anticipatory anxiety and trying to create a just playing field when life is not always just.
If your daughter would like to help start an AIM group here in the Lansing area that would be great! I'm sorry to hear she is going through a divorce and that is not easy. My heart and prayers go out to her. Anxiety is no picnic but it does not have to be a life sentence either. Many of us may think we are alone but there are a great number of people in America who have anxiety. If enough of us came together maybe we could start a good mental health care movement? God knows with America in financial ruins there are many more people suffering from stress / anxiety. If there was any one time in the world we could all help each other it would be now. I can only imagine the many different talents each and every one of us has we can share along with a listening ear. We could
barter our talents and be here for each other. We can feel we are a part of something more than ourselves by volunteering and the good feeling a person can get from doing so. Sorry, I got off on my thoughts. Just kind of thinking as I'm typing. I hope you are doing well?
Sincerely,
Chris

Hi Chris!
I wondered how you have been doing? Can I ask what your job consists of? Why is it on the line? Is it something that you enjoy doing?
As you know, my daughter lives in Mason, and suffers from anxiety. I know she would love to talk to you, as she is going thru a divorce and could use the support. If you like, I could ask her??? I don't know of any groups in Lansing or the surrounding areas. Tell me a little bit about what is going on with you, and I would be glad to help....
From what I remember of you, you are stronger than you think!
blessings,
Mary Ann

Hello Everyone,
My name is Chris and I used to go to AIM support group that met at the
church on the service drive of 696 in Warren. I moved to Lansing, MI in
2000 and tried starting an AIM support group here with very little
success. I am having a set back right now as my job is on the line. I'm
reaching out as I have no support base here and hoping someone knows of
a support group in Lansing or near by. I am following up with my family
doctor and psychologist. Also, I know the tools but have to plug them
back in and start using them again on a daily basis like eating
breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Christopher Fox
