It is wonderful news to hear that you are having practice opportunities! You know, it probably isn't the traffic and noise that has caused you panic. It is probably the mere fact that you have had a major change in your life. It seems that we don't cotton to change. It is good that you realize that it was your "choice" not to go to Manhattan. Realizing that we have choices puts the control into our hands. Why were you going to go??? Was it just for the heck of it, or did you guys have a purpose,,,reason to go? You see, if you really wanted to go, it may have been easier, but if there was not a good reason, the going gets tougher. It is important to realize that it isn't Manhattan that causes panic, it is your thoughts. Since it is your thinking that is the culprit.....then it is your thinking that will also get you going again. Have you tried writing affirmations? You will not die from panic attacks and you will not go crazy. Do you believe that?
"But today I chickened out when it came to making that trip downtown. I have been trying to have a more positive association with this trip. I almost thought I was up to it today but it just didn't happen."
I hope you are not beating yourself up about this. You will always have another chance and can make a new choice. Isn't that great?
I am glad you wrote!

Mary Ann
I thought maybe if I shared with the group it may help.
