To: All members and friends of 1311 York Street Club
From: John Wren, Club Manager Best way to contact:

This is the 2nd edition of this weekly letter. What do you think? Is
it worth continuing? Let me know what you think, also let me know of
any news that should be in this next week…
1. Have you checked out our website at
www.orgsites.com/co/yorkstreetclub recently? Thanks to Daryn Barry
and Bob for all their hard work on this in the last couple of weeks,
and to all the people who first got it started a couple of years
ago!
2. Have you bought your tickets yet to the dance next Saturday here
at the club? Available at the front desk or from one of the members
from the 7 a.m. Attitude Adjustment group. Thanks to everyone for
their hard work on this benefit for 1311 York Street Club! Watch
here for an announcement about a New Year's Dance, let me know if
you'd like to help!
3. Our 1st Manager's Tea will be held next Saturday, 4:15 p.m.
here
at the club. Each week we will be gathering to share about what's
it
has been like here at York Street, what is happening with us and
other clubs around the country, and what we hope it will be like
here at York Street in the future. We will also recognize birthdays
here at the club and volunteer work. We are going to try this just 2
weeks, then decide whether or not to keep meeting. Hope you will
join us.
4. We need a couple of key positions filled, either volunteer or we
could pay a very small amount of money. Bookkeeper to post our daily
information to Quickbooks and start running a weekly financial
report which I will be posting on the bulleting board. Also, a grant
writer to help us go after some of the grant money we believe is
available to us. Let me know if you or anyone you know would like
more information about either of these.
5. New!!! Club Representative Monthly Meeting. Sort of like an
intergroup meeting for the groups here at York Street, sort of like
a tenants association meeting at a shopping center or office
building. Please let us know who your group would like us to
recognize for purpose of voting, and when would be a good time for
us to meet.
Not a replacement for the general membership meeting (which is held
quarterly, next meeting in January), or for the board members
monthly meeting held the 2nd Monday of each month. See me for more
information, and watch for an announcement of the first meeting
soon, which will be open to all club members, of course, but only
Club Representatives (sort of like Grapevine Representatives—did
you
know the Grapevine is not a part of AA?) will be allowed to vote.
First meeting will be organizational only, open discussion about the
idea, no votes will be taken. Agenda and rules will be announced for
the 2nd meeting.
6. Tailgate Parties. Thanks to Barb and all the others for their
hard work on these. Would you like to see them held more often? Barb
needs your help if you do. We are open to all ideas about this,
please let me know what you think. Bring them to the Manager's
Tea
this Saturday, or just tell me what you think any time!
7. Front desk hours, volunteer greeters. We are trying to decide
what hours to keep at the front desk. We've been experimenting
with
volunteer greeters. What do you think of that idea? Please let me
know what you think.
Thanks to everyone for this opportunity to be of service. How may I
help you?
