If you have been using the oils for a month you most likely have a testimony you would like to share. At convention last month I got to go on stage with Gary Young and I was really excited. After smelling the Dorado Azul I became quite grounded and serene. It was wonderful.
I hope you can join us for the next Young Living Essential Oils Discussion Group meeting - always on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 6pm. We will continue our series on Wellness with a discussion of how essential oils can be used to ease particular health conditions. Greetings from the annual Young Living Essential Oils Convention in Salt Lake City, UT -
I arrived yesterday to find that the temperature was only 50 degrees and overcast, a far cry from the 91 degrees on Tuesday in Denver. However, the warmth in the Salt Palace where the convention was already in progress was warm and inviting. In the time it took me to check in and get back on the Red Lion shuttle, I had already made the acquaintance of a music therapist from Denver - we have become fast friends and have been sharing the convention experience.
Yesterday afternoon Gary Young presented the hormone balancing protocol that has been used at the Ecuador clinic that has fantastic results for men and women alike. One of the benefits of getting our hormones in balance is weight loss. I'm not a scientist, but Gary's explanation made sense to me. As a menopausal female I have experienced the physical expression of changing hormones and look forward to the changes Gary has seen with all of his clients who followed the protocol. I will be requesting a hormone panel to be drawn next week when I return to Denver for a baseline and then starting the protocol if indicated.
If you are in Denver, I hope to see you at our next YLEO discussion group on June 24th at 6pm.
I was seeing a massage client yesterday who I hadn't seen since late last fall. She had purchased a bottle of Thieves and raved about how her children hardly had a single cold over the entire winter, where normally they would be contiuously "snotty".
She runs a daycare and with dogs, kids and diapers, she said it could get a bit smelly. She also liked the way her house smelled since using it and was getting compliments all the time.
You can order Thieves for yourself, it's easy at https://www.youngliving.org/JANNGRIFFITHS. If you become a distributor you can get wholesale prices on every order as well as a discount coupon to save half off on a difusser.
Do you have a friend or family member who you think may benefit from learning more about essential oils? If so, please send them the link to join our group. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/YLEOils
Send any questions you may have regarding how essential oils may be able to contribute to your wellness and I will do my best to get that information to you quickly.

According to the Essential Oils Desk Reference (EDR), 2007 4th Edition:
Shingles is a short-lived viral infection of the nervous system that starts with fatigue, fever, chills, and intestinal upset. The affected skin areas become sensitive and prone to blistering. One attack usually provides immunity for life. However, for many people, particularly the elderly, pain can persist for months, even years.
NOTE: Occurrences of shingles around the eyes or on the forehead can cause blindness. Consult an ophthalmologist immediately if such outbreaks occur.
First Recommendations: Ravensara, niaouli, Thieves
Other Singles: Blue cypress, elemi, Idaho tansy, tea tree, oregano, mountain savory, oregano, sandalwood, thyme, peppermint
Application Method: Topical – Dilute 50:50 with base oil; apply 6 – 10 drops to the affected area, back of neck and down the spine (where viruses reside).
We had a good gathering at the first Denver Young Living Essential Oils Discussion Group. In addition to the enthusiastic women who filled the room, was the fragrance and healing properties of many essential oils that we shared. Here are just a few oils and blends that we discussed.
The anti-tumor oil blend of cypress, frankincense and grapefruit that should be applied to the breasts daily. (1 drop - each oil per breast).
Aroma Siez and Black Pepper reduce swelling.
Basil and Black Pepper great for achy muscles.
Frankincense and Myrrh are good for scars.
I am looking forward to our next monthly discussion group in May and will be sending out date, time and location information soon. You can start thinking about who you would like to bring as a guest or guests.
I discovered yet another use for lemon EO. Several years ago I had the grout in my bathroom re-sealed and some of the sealer was spashed onto the tile. Nothing would remove it after years of trying. Yesterday I put a drop of lemon EO on the splash and rubbed lightly with my finger - voila, it was gone.
Tell us about what you have learned about essential oils lately.
You can make a donation for my Avon Walk for Breast Cancer fundraiser. My goal is $1,800 - every donation - any size will help. The Rocky Mountain event is June 28 - 29th. Every little bit helps and is appreciated greatly.
We have a new Young Living Essential Oil Discussion group beginning
in April. This group is open to everyone. Come and share ideas, get
essential oil questions answered, and share in progressive health
care and recovery ideas.
Find out why Young Living essential oils are simply the best! Bring
your friends, your questions and your enthusiasm!
Please join Ruby Gibson and Jann Griffiths for an informal Essential
Oil discussion group in North Denver, CO.
Date: Tuesday evening, April 29, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 pm

Please RSVP by April 25th by calling Jann Griffiths 720-318-4053
$10 donation recommended. Tea and snacks served.
We look forward to seeing you all!
Use Lemon essential oil to clean off glue, tape and the like from
surfaces without a lot of elbow grease of scratching. Apply just a few
drops of oil in your palm and apply with your finger. Use a clean rag
to wipe the tape residue away. Works on glass, metal, wood and other
surfaces. Smells good and no harmful toxic chemicals.
Jann
Since I gave up using body care products with petroleum based
products I have been looking for an alternative for my body. Colorado
winters are very drying on my skin and I tend to get very itchy.
Using a recipe book for organic personal care products I made my own
version of Orange & Coconut Body Balm. It was easy to make and feels
great on my skin.
3/4 c. organic virgin olive oil
1/3 c. organic coconut oil
4 TBLS beeswax (I used a small new beeswax candle)
Melt above ingredients on low heat.
To one cup purified or distilled water add 20 drops of orange YLEO
and 20 drops of lavender YLEO (use could use 20 drops of lemon YLEO
and 20 drops of Purification YLEO instead).
Remove melted oil from heat and let cool for a few minutes before
adding the essential oils and water mixture slowly to the oil, stir
constantly with a wisk to ensure maximum blending of water, oil and
essential oils.
Store in a glass jar. It doesn't have to be refrigerated - use within
one year - this shouldn't be a problem because it feels so good to
use.
