hi fellow members,
i'm just curious. what sport or exercise do you enjoy doing on a
regular basis? what got you into doing this sport or exercise and how
long have you been involved with it?
my sport is running and martial arts. i run between four to six miles a
day, a few times a week. i also go to classes for martial arts twice a
week.
- Once or twice a week I play racquetball - well I work out in a
racquetball court - basically playing by myself. It's a great workout.
I started my freshman year in college 1977 :-) If one plays this alone
you get to swing twice as often. If you get good at control & position
you can have really long volley's 10-15 hits consecutive. It's also a
great release. I play with other people too, and that's fun for other
reasons, but I usually get wiped out physically and it's not as much
fun. I think racquetball helps tone my core & reflexes.
- 2 or 3 times a week I go to the GYM for strength training, weight
lifting with machines & free weights. The typical guy stuff, chest,
biceps, pull downs, all kinds of stuff. Recently I thought I would go
heavier with my biceps - my kids enjoy seeing that muscle ... :-)
- a few weeks ago I started running & it's helped me slim down a bit
more. This combined with some weight lifting has really been fun
because I like what I see happening to my body.
- I'm older, & the men in my family have a tendency to have a bit more
fat on top of their pecs & I would love to reduce that without
surgery. I haven't found too much out there on this topic. I'm hoping
that my new running routine will help. I always had a decent chest,
but now that I'm older I actually want to reduce this area ...
