On Saturday nite I had a unique opportunity to share my story,
experience strength and hope, online at Paltalk.com.
My share was recorded and is available for the public to listen to at

site) in order to hear my message. (Please contact me off-list if you
have any trouble joining). It's really pretty simple and a wonderful
online community for the recovering alcoholic .. copy/paste the link
above - it SHOULD work.
At my face-to-face meeting Sunday night I heard a great analogy:
"A.A. meetings are like a grocery store - you go there to get your
groceries, but you take them home or wherever to eat them." Basically
it's saying we come to the meetings
to listen and learn - then we
carry those principles into all our affairs.
The "Wizard of Oz" was on TBS this weekend. TONS of great recovery-
related analogies in that movie. It starts with the obvious - follow
the yellow brick road to visit the Wizard and to achieve the desired
result .. I guess we could say A.A. is like our Wizard .. follow his
suggestions and we can get back "home" :)
Finally, my wife and I had an argument this weekend. I am grateful
that in sobriety at least I know what we are fighting about .. not
like the foggy, incoherent shouting matches we used to have when I
was still deep in my active addiction. Admittedly, I need to work on
listening to her more (not just hearing her). Also, if you listen to
my share on the website I provided above, you will hear me mention
about half-way-thru about making a 9th Step Amend publicly. Well, she
is right. I need to complete that step
with her before I disclose
anything she should hear first before sharing elsewhere. Anyway, this
fight too shall pass.... it begins with willingness!
Enjoy my online share .. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend ;)
