Lots of work on my desk today. The holiday season is officially over
and it's back to business. That's good though - the more work I
have, the more chances I have to make good commissions! It's shaping
up to be an "Easy Does It" / "First Things First" kinda day. I will
try to be careful to not get overwhelmed or frustrated with the
heavy workload. Today's Daily Reflection is perfect for me to
remember *what I am* (an alcoholic) today:
"THE 100% STEP
Only Step One, where we made the 100 percent admission we were
powerless over alcohol, can be practiced with absolute perfection.
TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, p. 68"
If the work day today gets difficult, I need to remember I am
powerless over the drink and a glass of alcohol will solve nothing,
it'll only make the situation worse. I also need to remember I put
100% effort into lying, hiding, manipulating while actively
drinking - so I need to put that same 100% into my recovery. Keeping
this thought fresh in my mind will be a good example of carrying the
principles in all my everyday affairs. Remembering who I am, where
I've been, and what I wish for tomorrow will help carry me thru a
potentially stressful day at work.
Anyway, have a great weekend, hopefully you have some great sober
fun planned!
