The rain has stopped and there is a gorgeous breeze blowing this
morning - I actually took a brief minute on the way to work to
appreciate the beautiful Fall-like weather here in NJ. Just another
small miracle of sobriety - appreciating nature :)
Tonight I am going to my Sponsor's Homegroup to help him celebrate
24 years! This meeting is down near the rehab I "graduated" from -
so it'll be nice to chat with the guys currently in the house to
share my 8+ months of ESH .. I can let them know life CAN get
better .. and for me pretty quickly .. if you work for it! I
remember "Alumni" coming back to visit when I was still in-patient
and how their words always seemed to give me hope .. hopefully I can
do the same for someone transitioning to recovery today!
Last week I wrote about the drunk guy who wandered into my Homegroup
that ended up accepting a trip to the VA Hospital. Well, last night
he came back to the meeting - SOBER! He admitted he wasn't dry the
entire week, but the small steps away from not drinking EVERY day is
certainly a step in the right direction :)
Have a terrific Tuesday - take a minute to appreciate your sobriety
today ;)
