Hi Tammy,
My take on this is that in order for us to do God's will we must be made fit for his service and our defects get removed to the extent necessary for us to do our part. The more I focus on my problems the less they seem to go away. The more I try to seek and do God's will with through Steps 10, 11 and 12 the less defective I am even though I'm not focusing on the defects. Make any Sense?

Subject: Re: [We_Have_Recovered] A Question...Jims,Don't I have to be a willing participant in the removal process by taking better actions and practicing better thinking too ...I mean with the help of God and AA? I ask God every day to remove my defects of character...as same as I ask Him to keep me sober for the day. But I know that my actions and thoughts have to be constantly re-directed toward that goal in order to work with God and AA. Right or wrong? I am sincerely listening and want to learn more.Truthfully, Tammy
