I just wanted to welcome the new member to our group. I was so
excited to finally see some activity again. My name is Greta and I
have a daughter who is nine. She was diagnosed at 2 1/2. We are very
fortunate to have been spared a lot of the medical problems that many
other children have had. Abby is pretty high functioning. She is
5'8" and weighs about 130. She is mainstreamed in the regular
classroom at school and is pulled out for math, spelling, and reading.
She loves everyone and everyone loves her. She never meets a
stranger and is very funny. She doesn't like change very much and
likes to be informed of what is going on and what is coming next. She
had some sensory issues early but have overcome many challenges. She
plays softball on a league for kids with disabilities, but her
favorite this to do in the summer is swim. She is in the pool
everyday and it has been great for her muscle strengthening. She also
is a great artist. She loves art programs and is constantly painting
and drawing.
If there is anything I can do to help or if you have any questions for
me please let me know. It helps to have someone who has been through
what you are dealing with. Hope to hear from you soon.
