Re: [WSSA] Have anyone come across this before?

Hi Sandy! Great to hear from you!!! Hope all is going well, besides the teeth thing....My son, Devon, now 6, lost his teeth early, and has a few minor :flaws" in his enamel, but nothing else so far. I do want to comment though, I also belong to Sotos Syndrome support group. I am sure you have heard of this syndrome before, it is almost identical to weavers, main difference is facial features. On that site I have read posts regarding this. It is not really common, but several other kids have had to have surgery to remove the extra teeth, and then a bridge (?) put in to keep the space open until the 3rd set comes down. Not sure if this is helpful to you or Nathan....I also wanted to share that I have met another care-taker from the UK that helps a busy mom with TWO weaver syndrome boys!!!! Her name is Maxine, she has been great, I wish I had someone to help me and Devon! Anyways, just wanted to share this before we left. Devon has another sleep study in Seattle (long trip!!!! Takes about 6 hours one way with no stops....), the one he had locally was not good and the doc's want more input..... Has any of our Weaver kids had sleep issues that anyone is aware of?
Hope everything turns out OK for you and Nathan, please let me know. You could also google sotos syndrome, and go to the support group and look under archives for teeth issues, then you could read about it and maybe be able to talk with another mom who has knowledge about this first hand! Just a thought, take care!

Dear all....Nathan seems to have duplicate second teeth ? it seems that
we may have to face some sort of surgery to remove some of the teeth
and possibly end up wearing a brace to straighten the remaining
teeth....any comments welcome
