Happy Valentines Day!   Message List

Hi everyone, just wanted to wish you all a happy v-day, and ask how
things are going for all of you. Devon is doing good, expecially in
his behavior!!! Dad is on board, finally, and now see's how serious
his behavior is (dad's inconsistancy was making bahavior worse, and
dad did not have any boundries with Devon, let him hit, through
things at him and everyone else too for that matter, etc etc)School
is going good for him too. He still has some issues, but he probly
always will. Do any of your kids have a horrible time with fine motor
skills? Devon knows how to write, but it takes so much out of him he
can only write a few letters and he will get frusrtated (he is 6). We
are also making the long trip back over to the coast (Seattle
Childrens Hospital)to see the sleep specialist and re-do his sleep
study since it came back so bad. We will let them help decide on what
to do. Not sure if I updated you all on this or not, so I will now.
When Devon was young, he had severe sleep apnea and was on machines
and oxygen. He had his aspiration fixed, his stomach fixed and a pylo-
plasty, adnoids and tonsils removed, so we thought he was doing well.
The last time we were over at Seattle the pulmonologist wanted a
sleep study done, I talked Devon's doctors into doing the study in
Spokane (only 180 miles round trip) I did not want to travel for 12
hours just to go to sleep and then come home! The sleep study did not
come back very good, he has mixed sleep apnea. Kids heart rates
should be between (75)80-100 while they are sleeping, Devons was 49
through out the study, his oxygen was also low. He had 48 apnea's in
6 1/2 hours and never reached the full REM stages (might be why he is
so cranky), not sure how they tell, but they said the central
nervious system apnea was the big concern (nothing they can really do
for it, it is his brains inability to regulate his body)Any ways
sorry to go on and on, but but we go over on the 27th.
Take care and I am thinking of you all much lately!
PS I am used to spell check, so sorry for all the misspellings!
